Join Edalex and the Council for Aid to Education (CAE) for an open and informative discussion on the 12 July at 6:00pm (EDT) / 13 July at 8:00am (AEST) between education and research leaders on the importance of measuring learning outcomes of essential academic and workplace skills.

OSN July Showcase - RSDs, Skills, and the Global Skills-Based Movement

Edalex are thrilled to be featured in the next Open Skills Network Showcase on the 21 July at 4:00pm (EST) / 22 July at 6:00am (AEST) on the topic of “RSDs, Skills, and the Global Skills-Based Movement”.

Melinda O’Halloran and I will discuss our recent experience participating in an OSN Skills Collaborative Project - where, in collaboration with industry and HE leaders, we explored leveraging and implementing Rich Skill Descriptor (RSD) libraries in the Australian education and employment ecosystem. Besides, our session will also cover:

  • The launch of our openRSD - an open access library for the creation, storage and sharing of RSDs
  • The growth of the Skills Ecosystem in Australia - the challenges and opportunities they and others have encountered
  • How stakeholders across the spectrum are working together to progress the enablement of an open skills environment

Melbourne EdTech Summit 2022 - All Learning Counts and Skills Recognition at Scouts Australia

The Melbourne EdTech Summit is a two-day thought leadership program. Edalex are thrilled to present an interactive panel discussion: "All Learning Counts - Skills Recognition of Non-Formal Learning and Aligning to Formal Learning Pathways" on the 9 August at 1:30pm (AEST) at Deakin Downtown.

In this session, the panellists will discuss what learning and recognition means for learning organisations such as Scouts Australia and what it means in the context of Australian frameworks. They explore the challenges of recognising and representing informal and non-formal learning and the provision of pathways for learners to formal learning outcomes. They detail the technology enablement of skills recognition through mapping and aligning skills data using open data standards to achieve scale.
